Event Sourcing over CRUD for Audit Trails

Decision: Replace standard CRUD in PostgreSQL with Event Sourcing for financial transaction audit trails. Rationale: CRUD updates overwrite previous states, making it impossible to provide compliance with history of changes. Database triggers were considered but rejected because they lose business context. Immutable domain events stored in Kafka, with Postgres materialized view for fast reads.
