Event Sourcing over CRUD for Audit Trails

Team decided to move from standard CRUD in PostgreSQL to Event Sourcing for financial transaction audit trails. Decision driven by compliance requirements. Database triggers were considered but rejected due to lack of business context. Event Sourcing stores immutable domain events in Kafka, with materialized views in Postgres. Implementation: event producers in src/services/transactionService.ts and consumer/store logic in src/events/eventStore.ts.
